Quite a few of you have been asking me how the garden is looking now after the redesign so I thought I would post a photo of how the garden is shaping up.
The squares on the left hand side of the garden get the most sun and so that’s where most of the vegetables are.
In the square on the left hand side to the top is the following:
Lettuce, Peas, Spinach, Spring Onions, Radish, Salad Leaves, Carrots, Leeks, Onions, Asters, Cosmos, Pears, Blackberry and Red Currant with Sweetcorn to come.
In the square below that is:
Onions, Shallots, Garlic, Potatoes, Raspberries, Strawberries, Blackcurrant, Basil, Lettuce and Spinach Beet.
In the square on the right hand side to the top is the following:
Runner Beans, French Beans, Potatoes, Cauliflower, Pak Choi, Mange Tout and Cornflowers with Courgette, Cucumbers and and Pumpkins to come.
Below that in the bottom hand square is:
Herbs (including, Chives, Basil, Sage, Thyme, Coriander, Parsley, Taragon), Rhubarb and Artichoke
Along the left hand wall is the following:
Peach, Grape Vine, Tomatoes, Cape Gooseberry, Gladioli, Iris and Apple
I also have Chili Peppers in the cold frame, two Blueberry bushes in pots and Sunflower seedlings in the Victorian mini-greenhouse.
Phew!
Hello! I recently discovered your blog and having been reading back through the archives. It’s great – thanks for sharing all that info!
Your new garden is looking beautiful, and what a lot of stuff you have growing in it! The table & chair looks very tempting – it must be nice to sit there with a nice glass of wine and relax!
Well done!
Wow…you’ve been busy, and the garden looks terrific!!
It really is looking lovely. How is the other little seedling? I must ask where you obtained all your pots. There is a lovely shot of them in your potting shed from ’10 Jobs for March’No plastic for MTP!! I have 3 tiny old clay pots & would love more. What happened to mttp?Never seemed to hear much after the first couple of months.Or did I miss a post?
Your garden looks great! I’m growing a lot of the same cool season veggies as you are.
But as someone with out of control blackberries, I have to warn you that blackberries could take over that entire square in a couple of years. I have runners popping up all over my garden. Probably the same with raspberries too.
Hi
Just found your blog via the Accidental Smallholder web site. I wanted to congratulate you on your blog and of course the garden! It looks great.
My wife and I decided to leave the corporate world behind earlier this year and have bought half an acre in rural Hampshire. We plan to build our own small holding basically starting from scratch, to include all our own vegetables and of course loads of free range chuckies.
As we’ve only just secured the property we are at the beginning of our journey but we plan to share our experiences with other budding small holders. So we’re currently working on some content for our own blog that I registered earlier today thanks to your tutorial. :)
Good luck with the garden and huge thanks for all the free advice.

It looks wonderful, like a kitchen garden from a grand house!
It is sheltered which is perfect. I would love a little plot like your one.
