Peas are Go!

pea seedlings in drainpipe
Today I planted my drainpipe peas up at the allotment. I read a tip somewhere that if you give them a good water they should slide in like a dream. It worked! I’ve already sowed another row into another bit of piping ready to go in a couple of weeks time. Keen, I know.

  1. I used this technique last year – worked really well. Got one lot of peas in guttering now just starting to germinate. Have also tried it with broad beans which works ok as well.

  2. This technique is total genius and you are a star: it’s transformed my pea-growing efforts, which were dogged by failure and part-failure before I tried it. I had a fantastic crop last year, which I’ve never achieved before. Thanks for a brilliant tip!
