My Tiny PlotChopping the Chives
About this time of year I chop my Chives down to the ground. You can leave them to get hit by the frost but they look so messy when I do that. I prefer to have their little stubbly leaves down the side of the pathway instead. It’s definitely getting colder! Brrrrr.
I need to do this. Mine look terrible at the moment!
This is a good tip, I’m adding it to my “to-do” list.
While here in South Australia chives rarely suffer from frost damage, they do die down over the winter.
It’s spring here now and my chives are now putting up their first, tender little spikes ready for my summer potato salads.
This is an amazing post, chives are awesome and there’s so much you can grow in such tiny plots :)
I know this has nothing to do with this particular post, but I am struggling to grow some ginger plants from routs that sprouted. Could you give some tips perhaps? Thank you
Where are you growing it? It likes tropical conditions. Hot, humid, no direct sun.
