What a difference three weeks makes! I planted these Lettuce seedlings on Oct 28th and just look at them now. They are so perfect! Of course they have been cosseted in my greenhouse with the door and windows firmly shut. And so even though there is frost on the ground today they are tucked up all cosy.
We’ll be eating these soon and boy will they taste good. I think the fewer plants you have the more special the harvest.
But I just love to see things grow. It’s the before and after that gets me every time.
Great looking lettuces!
And your other little seedlings are coming along, too.
I am always amazed at how fast radish will grow.
Have a wonderful week-end!

They look fantastic. I must do better with salad next year, I’ve hardly grown any at all this season.
Your lettuces look great. You will be adding them to salad in not time. How do you keep the snails and slugs away?
I love your lettuces! I live in Southern Oregon. Not sure how our weather differs, but I don’t cover my lettuce at all. It freezes and thaws, freezes and thaws… but is still good to eat!
When I lived in CA I was troubled by snails and slugs, but here in OR I rarely even see a single one. Plus, raised beds probably help. My problem is earwigs in my strawberries.
Hi Lisa!
Thanks for commenting. I visited your site and tried to comment on it but it asked me to log in. And there was no email address to let you know about this. So hopefully you get this message. Nice blog.
